Religious Activity

Jaffna College was founded by Missionaries and is a strongly committed Christian School with its motto “Jesus Christ the Light of Life”.  Jaffna College accepts and welcomes both staff and students from predominately Hindu and Christian faith traditions.

Religious activities at the College include Christian education, and regular services such as Sunday Vespers and Cathedral services where communion is served once a month.  The College also has a chapel.  Particular services and events are organised for special dates in the Christian calendar such as Easter and Christmas. Students can participate in singing and dramatic presentations on these occasions.
